A body believed to be missing 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey has been discovered in St Johns County.
During what deputies called an exhausting search, Bailey’s school’ the Patriot Oaks Academy’ sent out a message to families that said, “If you know Tristyn or have seen her at all, please contact the police. We are asking for your prayers on behalf of her family.”
Many people came out and searched the wooded areas of Durbin Crossing for hours.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s office called off the search around 6 p.m. Sunday and gave a briefing saying they believed a body found to be Bailey.
Durbin Creek Elementary issued a statement saying “We are devastated for the family of Tristyn Bailey. We are asking all our Explorers to wear white today in observance.
A candlelight vigil is planned for tonight at 8:30 at the Durbin Amenities center
The Putnam County Department of Health will be hosting no appointment needed vaccinations on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10 am to 2 pm at the 1101 Husson Ave location in Palatka. This is for the Moderna Vaccine and is for individuals who are 18 years and older.

This comes after the office last week published the names of taxpayers who owe tangible personal property taxes. Tax Collector Linda Myers says one of the biggest questions they get is from mobile home owners who own the mobile home but do not own the land it is on. They fall under the tangible personal property tax category. They need to get an annual mobile home decal.
Face to face graduations were held for St Johns River State College on Friday. There were three different ceremonies held to accommodate the 700 graduates and their families with social distancing. President Joe Pickens said that the first group of 300 graduates was making history for many reasons. He said hee believed it was the first college graduation ceremony that was exclusively dual enrollment and collegiate high school students. He added that the class had overcome things they never imagined. He said “what do you say to a group that has overcome what you have overcome? No one had a pandemic in their plans. He said the one word that described this years graduates was “Perseverence”.
