LaTonya Johns has filed her intent to run for election to Palatka City Mayor/Commissioner, in the 2022 election cycle. 


A busy Friday for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office  as deputies were led on a pursuit of a stolen
vehicle with two felons crashing the truck and fleeing into the woods. Randy Moore, 28, and
Brooke Moore, 27, are now residing at the Green Roof Inn after a joyride in a stolen vehicle from
Volusia County and making the mistake of coming into Flagler.
The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) received an alert of a
stolen vehicle driving westbound on State Road 100.
the vehicle continued northbound on US-
1, ultimately running off the roadway and crashing after
the driver lost control of the vehicle. The occupants fled on foot into the woods behind Builders
FirstSource lumberyard in Bunnell.
A joint effort from FCSO deputies, K9 and FireFlight led to the subjects who were ultimately tracked
down They were secured without further
incident.

This dynamic duo is no stranger to law enforcement and both
have felony convictions in Volusia County. Randy has 12 prior
felony convictions and Brooke has two prior felony convictions and
has a criminal history with multiple
drug-related charges.
The Moore’s are now being held at the Green Roof Inn facing charges
of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Resist Officer without Violence, and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Additionally, Brooke is being charged for Reckless Driving with Damage to
Person/Property, Driving While License Suspended with Knowledge, Flee and Elude and Crash-Damage
to Vehicle.

63 year old Michael Floyd of Palatka was arrested after threatening to cut a persons throat with a machete and kill a witness.  Palatka Police reported that Floyd and the victim were sitting in a vehicle in the Palatka Family Market parking lot and he had a machete and threatened the victim  and a witness tried to intervene and Floyd reportedly threatened to kill them.

        Palatka School Superintendent Rick Surrency is meeting with some visitors from Israel today to share the local school districts success with the STEM program.  Rick will be joining us tomorrow live on the air to talk about that meeting and to talk about the school board meeting to hear about the next step for the next phase of the building nine new schools in ten years.  The school board will hear about the timeline and the costs involved for the first school to be built in Crescent City.  It will be a new Junior Senior High.

The south Putnam community came together in Crescent City as they laid to rest one year old Jose Ayo Lara Junior who died after falling into a septic tank outside his house March 26th.  A 24 hour search was held after he was reported missing by his mother. Crescent City mayor Michele Myers said we all need to continue to keep the family in our thoughts and prayers as they grieve their loss.  A mass was held at St Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City and following the Mass children brought in flowers and balloons and sang the Baby Shark song.

THE FLAGLER COUNTY FAIR WILL BE TAKING PLACE STARTING TOMORROW AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN BUNNELL.  THIS WILL BE A TRADITIONAL FAIR WITH JUST LIVESTOCCK SHOWS AND EXHIBITS.  WEDNEDAY WILL BE THE GOAT AND COW SHOW THURSDAY IS THE SWINE SHOW AND FRIDAY WILL E THE SHOW AND SALE AND DESSERT AUCTION.
