An $11.6 million upgrade of State Road 100 is planned in Flagler County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. The 4.55 mile project from just east of Old Kings Road and Interstate 95 in Palm Coast to the edge of central Bunnell will start in the fall of 2023. The project on SR 100, also known as East Moody Boulevard, includes repaving the four-lane stretch and providing pedestrian improvements including six-foot-wide sidewalks as well as several crosswalks. Design cost is $2.1 million and construction is budgeted at $9.5 million. A public hearing on project plans will be June 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Government Services Building in Bunnell. The presentation also can be watched online.

The search has stopped for a man who reportedly jumped off Memorial Bridge in Palatka Tuesday, according to Col. Joe Wells with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The decision was made after an anonymous call said while the jump was real it was a teenage prank and the young man who jumped was safe. Divers and Sonar began searching Tuesday morning after a couple of people reported seeing a man jump into the St. Johns River from the bridge. The search continued Wednesday but no one was found. Wells said this morning the searching has stopped and won’t resume unless other information surfaces.

Palatka Police Department has a new Facebook star in their drug dog — a cocker spaniel named Tito. The dog caught people’s attention after police posted Tito with K-9 Officer Blaine Snyder and the cash and drugs they helped uncover during a bust Tuesday night. A routine traffic stop for no headlights near Bronson Street and North 20th Place led to officers deciding to give a sobriety test to driver Lajohndria Rollins, 27. Rollins passed the sobriety test but Tito by then had alerted to narcotics in the car. Rollins refused several requests to unlock her car but eventually officers were able to get in and a search turned up a 9 mm handgun, more than $2,000 in cash, a digital weighing scale and 31 grams of cocaine. Rollins, a convicted felon, is now charged with several charges including trafficking of cocaine and possession of a firearm.

St. Johns County Sheriffs Office is seeking the public’s help in a search for a woman missing since 2021. The family of Erin M. Law, 39, says they have not seen or heard from her since July 2021. If you have information about Law or her truck, call 888-277-8477 or email crimetips@sjso.org.
